Studying in Malaysia has become a trend among international students looking for quality education at an affordable price. The country is home to international University campuses like the University of Nottingham, University of Reading, University of Southampton, Monash University, University of Swinburne and public universities like Universiti of Malaya (UM), Universiti Sains Malaysia and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia to name a few.
Once the student chooses to start the study in Malaysia, it is important to know the admission requirements and procedures of application. In Malaysia, the academic session for both undergraduate and postgraduate program starts in February. There are two intakes in an academic year, i.e., February and September. Students have to start applying 6 months prior to the intake date.
One has to be well aware of the application deadline and the tests to be taken. The Malaysia admission deadline for the public universities is October of the previous year for February intake and May-June of the previous year for the September intake.
The public and private Universities have set the admission requirements including the language tests. Here are the general admission requirements set in Universities/Colleges in Malaysia. The entry requirements may vary depending on the course one applies to.
Entry Requirements in Private Colleges
Private colleges in Malaysia have set a lot easier admission requirement. For diploma programs, grade 12 is the minimum qualification and for PG Diploma the admission requirement is successful completion of a 3-year diploma or degree in the relevant subject field. Private Colleges in Malaysia do not require IELTS to prove language proficiency.
Our team will guide you through various steps for the process of applying for admission to Universities and Colleges in Malaysia.
Selecting the best possible course is the key decision that has to be taken by the students opting to study in Malaysia.
Step 2:
There might be intense competition for the most popular courses and students can select courses offering a clear career path. To ease the process, our team will guide students with a selected list of courses as per their academic background.
Step 3:
Once the course is finalized students should prepare documents as per the academic requirements of the course selected. A detailed document checklist for University application will be forwarded to the applicant by our team. Students have to substantiate the proof of English language proficiency as per the course requirement and a detailed personal statement of purpose with their application.
Step 4:
If the application is successful, students will receive a Conditional Offer Letter. The letter sets out the course enrolled in, enrolment conditions, the tuition details, and the refund policies if the student doesn’t complete the course with that provider.
Step 5:
In order to confirm the offer letter, students should fulfil the conditions if any and pay the tuition fees mentioned with the deadline date. Students should send a signed copy of the acceptance of the offer and tuition fee payment receipt back to the institution and confirm their seats.
Step 6:
After receiving an unconditional offer letter, students can start the procedures for Visa application for which our crew is here to ease up. To know more about Visa procedures please check the Visas and Entry requirements on our site under Malaysia education.
