Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP): Latest updates and draws

With promising job opportunities and high living standards, Alberta has been attracting immigrants from across the globe to settle in this Canadian province. Latest data shows that Alberta is the second most favourite destination for immigrants in Canada, just after Ontario.

The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program(AINP) allows the province to attract immigrants capable of filling the shortages in Alberta’s labour market. Over the years, Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program has helped many workers, graduates and entrepreneurs to settle in the province.

The candidates selected by Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program will receive a provincial nomination certificate with which they can apply for permanent residence in Canada.

In 2018, Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program underwent major changes and two new immigration streams were introduced–the Opportunity Stream and Express Entry Stream, replacing the Strategic Recruitment stream and the Employer-Driven stream. The Opportunity stream of Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program allows temporary foreign workers working in Alberta to obtain Canada PR. At the same time, the Express Entry candidates who receive nomination from Alberta will obtain 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points and an invitation to apply (ITA) for permanent residence in Canada at a subsequent Express Entry draw.

Provincial nomination allocation for Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program for the year 2019 is 6000. Alberta PNP has already issued 3385 nominations so far this year, while another 1560 applications are awaiting assessment for eligibility.
