Express Entry Targets 1,280 candidates with CRS of 549 and above for Permanent Residence

Express Entry Draw 292

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has announced the results of the first Express Entry draw for April. This draw targets 1,280  candidates with a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 549 or above to apply for Permanent Residence in Canada.

In the recent draw, candidates needed to meet the minimum CRS score of 549 to be considered for an Invitation to Apply (ITA). This draw follows a series of draws in March, including general draws and category-specific selections.

Throughout March, IRCC conducted four draws. The general draws on March 12 and 25 issued ITAs to candidates with CRS scores of 525 and 524, respectively, while two category-based draws had lower CRS requirements. Specifically, on March 13, 975 candidates in transport occupations with a minimum CRS score of 430 were invited. In the final draw of March on March 26, 1,500 candidates eligible under the French language proficiency category received ITAs, with a minimum CRS score of 388, the highest for this category in 2024 so far.

Overall, this draw highlights the growing competitiveness of Canada’s Express Entry system. Carefully analyzing your profile and taking steps to raise your CRS score can significantly increase your chances of receiving an invitation to apply for Permanent Residence.
