- Hold a foreign education credential with an ECA (Education Credential Assessment) from a renowned institution or a completed Canadian education credential.
- Have a minimum of 1 year of continuous full-time paid work experience in the same occupation, or the equivalent in part-time experience under TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 skill level occupation, within the last ten years from the date your application is submitted.
- Be financially sufficient to support you and your family while settling in Canada.
- You must intend to live outside of the province of Quebec.
How do I apply?
To apply for the Federal Skilled Worker Program, you must do the following:
- Ensure you meet the eligibility criteria mentioned for the program, such as education, language proficiency, and work experience. Check your score on the Federal Skilled Worker points grid.
- Gather the necessary documents required to create your Express Entry profile. To create one, you’ll need a valid passport, test results from an approved language test, and an educational credential assessment.
- Create an Express Entry profile online through the IRCC portal. Fill in your personal information. Enhance your profile by ranking under the CRS score.
- You will receive an ITA either based on the CRS or the occupation. With an ITA, you can apply for permanent residence. You will have 60 days to submit a complete application from the date of receiving the ITA.
- You must complete a medical exam and submit a police clearance certificate. Also, provide work reference letters from your employers.
- A Canadian immigration officer will review your application for approval.
- You will receive an update on the status of your application. This process takes six to twelve months on average to be processed.
- Once the status of your application is confirmed, you will receive your visa and COPR.
