Are you an engineer, nurse, pharmacist or primary school teacher? If you are eligible, you can migrate to Australia with the nomination of New South Wales(NSW). The Australian state of New South Wales nominates suitable candidates for migration to Australia, if they satisfy the requirements that make them eligible for nomination.  In the wake of the announcement that Australia will be opening up its borders for immigrants in the near future, the state is now launching some new migration streams and policies for attracting more number of skilled workers. The NSW 190 stream is now open for those candidates who have been living outside Australia since the last three months and hold valid skills assessment.
Australian Immigration

Offshore candidates will be eligible, if they have work experience in the following occupations:

  • 1332 – Engineering Managers
  • 1335 – Production Managers
  • 1342 – Health and Welfare Service Managers
  • 2332 – Civil Engineering Professionals
  • 2333 – Electrical Engineers
  • 2334 – Electronics Engineers
  • 2335 – Industrial, Mechanical and Production Engineer
  • 2336 – Mining Engineers
  • 2339 – Other Engineering Professionals
  • 2342 – Food Scientists
  • 2633 – Telecommunications Engineering Professionals
  • All Trade Occupations such as- sheet metal trades workers, metal fabricators, carpenters, bricklayers, glaziers, machinist, baker, pastry cook, butcher, hairdresser, cabinet maker (except chef, cook, motor mechanic)
  • 2411 – Early Childhood (Pre-primary School) Teachers
  • 2412 – Primary School Teachers
  • 2415– Secondary School Teachers
  • 2515 – Pharmacists
  • 2523 – Dental Practitioners
  • 2541 – Midwives
  • 2542 – Nurse Educators and Researchers
  • 2543 – Nurse Managers
  • 2544 – Registered Nurses
  • 3111 – Agricultural Technicians

However, you must remember that NSW does not directly invite candidates for nomination. Instead, the candidates need to submit their profile in EOI Skill Select. Eligible candidates are issued invitations to apply for nomination in the invitation rounds that are conducted time to time.

Subclass 190 or Skilled Nominated Visa for Australia migration

The subclass 190 or Skilled Nominated Visa is for skilled workers who want to work and live in Australia as permanent residents. 90% of the Subclass 190 applications are processed within 18 months.

In order to apply for Subclass 190 visa, candidates with work experience in the following occupations must have work experience of at least three years:

  • 1351 – ICT Managers
  • 1399 – Other Specialist Managers
  • 1411 – Cafe and Restaurant Managers
  • 1413 – Hotel and Motel Managers
  • 2211 – Accountants
  • 2212 – Auditors
  • 2611 – ICT Business and Systems Analysts
  • 2613 – Software and Applications Programmers
  • 2621 – Database and Systems Administrators, and ICT Security Specialists
  • 2631 – Computer Network Professionals
  • 2632 – ICT Support and Test Engineers
  • All Trade Occupations such as- Sheet metal Trades Workers, Metal Fabricators, Carpenters, Bricklayers, Glaziers, Machinist, Baker, Pastry cook, Butcher, Hairdresser, Cabinet Maker, Chef, Cook, Motor Mechanic.

Steps involved in NSW nomination for subclass 190 visa

  1. Check if you are eligible for subclass 190 Australian visa.
  2. Check if you meet the minimum eligibility criteria for NSW nomination.
  3. Submit an Expression of Interest in SkillSelect.
  4. Receive an invitation to apply
  5. Submit the application within 14 days
  6. Submit proofs for your EOI score and place of residence
