393 immigration candidates invited in Manitoba PNP draw of December 30

In the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) draw held on December 30, the province invited 393 immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination. The invitations were issued to candidates from three major immigration programs under the MPNP, which are the Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream, Skilled Workers Overseas stream and International Education Stream.

Among the invitees, 332 were Skilled Workers in Manitoba candidates and they were required to have a minimum score of 375 to receive the invitation. Skilled Workers Overseas candidates received 35 invitations and their minimum required score was 726. The number of International Education Stream candidates who received invitations in the draw 26 and they had no minimum score requirement. The total number of Express Entry candidates who received invitations in the draw was 73.

Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program

Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program or MPNP manages applications for Manitoba provincial nomination and helps the province select immigration candidates who have the ability to meet the its labour market needs.

In order to receive a nomination from Manitoba, a candidate must first submit an Expression of Interest the MPNP. Each Expression of Interest profile is then assessed on the basis of various human capital factors such as age, education work experience and also, the candidate’s previous connections to the province.

The Skilled Worker Overseas candidates need to have previous connections to Manitoba in the form of close family ties or previous study/work experience or an invitation received through one of the Strategic Recruitment Initiatives of Manitoba. However, it is not necessary for the candidate to be residing in Canada, to receive an invitation.

To be eligible under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba category, the candidate must have a full-time permanent job offer from a Manitoba employer. International graduates who have completed their education from a Manitoba higher education institution may receive an invitation under the International Education Stream if they have in-demand skills.
