WHATSAPPCanada witnessed 7.7 per cent growth in application volume for all B-schools program types — including MBA, business master’s and PhD programmes, shows the annual application trends survey by the Graduate Management Admission Council. The Graduate Management Admission Council is an international non-profit organization of business schools that provides products and services to academic institutions and prospective graduate management education students. The survey also found that majority of these international students preferred to do full-time, two-year MBA in Canada.
The growth is application volume in Canada is mainly attributed to applications from international students. This is in contrast to the MBA colleges in the United States that witnessed a 7 per cent decline in application volume. There was a 1.8 per cent fall in domestic application volume and a 10.5 per cent dip in applications from international students, across all program types in the US. Moreover, 65 per cent of all Canadian management programs witnessed an increase in international applications this year, compared to 2017.
