In the two draws that took place on April 11 and 12, the Canadian province of Ontario issues 142 Notifications of Interest (NoIs) to candidates in the Express Entry pool. The draws were held for the Express Entry-aligned French Speaking Skilled Worker Stream (FSSW) and Skilled Trades Stream of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP). The draws did not require candidates to have minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores, as candidates were chosen based on their eligibility to qualify for the FSSW and Skilled Trades Scheme.
Fifty-five candidates who have submitted their Express Entry profiles between January 1, 2018 and April 12, 2018 were selected under FSSW Stream. Under Skilled Trades Stream, 87 candidates who have submitted Express Entry profiles between January 1, 2018 and April 11 2018 were issued NoIs.
This year, Ontario issues NoIs to 791 Express Entry candidates till date under these two streams. Besides, OINP has been regularly issuing NoIs through the Express Entry-linked Human Capital (HCP) Stream. Since the start of this year, OINP has issued NoIs to a total of 3378 Express Entry candidates.
Those who have received NoIs can submit an online application to the OINP within 45 calendar days. The candidates who successfully apply will obtain 600 additional CRS points, increasing their prospects to receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) at the Express Entry draw.
The FSSW Stream: The FSSW stream of OINP, introduced in 2015, is for French-speaking skilled workers who also have sufficient English language abilities
The Skilled Trades Stream: Through this stream, experienced trades workers who are eligible, can settle in Ontario through the Express Entry system.
