The Saskatchewan government has announced the date for the next two Entrepreneur Expression of Interest draws for the entrepreneur sub-category. The draws are scheduled to take place on the 19th of September and the 21st of November.
The Saskatchewan Entrepreneur Sub-Category under the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program is for applicants who wish to immigrate to Saskatchewan and establish or acquire or partner with an existing business by investing a capital in the province.
The individual in order to migrate under the Entrepreneur Sub-Category should first submit an Expression of Interest under the SINP’s online application system. The candidate should also provide necessary information which includes their previous entrepreneurship experience, assets and their plan to establish a business.
An applicant should meet the below-mentioned criteria in order to migrate under the Saskatchewan Entrepreneur Sub-Category:
- The applicant should possess a minimum of CAD $500,000 as personal assets.
- He/she should have a minimum of three years experience in the similar business field within the past 10 years.
- The applicant should be willing to invest a minimum of CAD $300,000 if it is in Regina & Saskatoon or a minimum of CAD $200,000 if it is in the other cities of Saskatchewan.
Once the applicant gets approved by the Saskatchewan Government, he/she will be able to apply to the Canadian Government for a temporary work permit. On fulfilling the terms of the Business Performance Agreement (BPA) for a period of six months, the applicant can then apply for a Saskatchewan Provincial Nominee Program which paves the path to obtain a Canadian Permanent Residence.
