Ontario issued 15 new Notifications of Interest (NOIs) to Express Entry candidates through the French-Speaking Skilled Worker (FSSW) Stream on August 23. Earlier, on August 16, Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) had issued another 31 invitations through the same stream. With these two draws, the total number of invitations issued through French-Speaking Skilled Worker (FSSW) Stream has reached 977 so far this year.
French-Speaking Skilled Worker (FSSW) Stream:
French-Speaking Skilled Worker (FSSW) Stream of OINP is aligned to the federal Express Entry system. The stream is exclusively meant for French-speaking candidates who are in the Express Entry pool and have strong English language abilities. In order to be eligible, the candidates must qualify for either the Federal Skilled Worker Class or the Canadian Experience Class. They must also have language ability equal to Canadian Language Benchmark of at least 7 in French and 6 in English. Besides, they must meet some other criteria in order to qualify under the stream.
This year, Ontario has been regularly issuing invitations through the FSSW stream. The Express Entry candidates who receive invitations through this stream will get 600 additional CRS points that increase their chances of being invited to apply for permanent residence in Canada in the subsequent Express Entry draws.
New invitations issued through Entrepreneur stream:
Ontario issued 21 new invitations to apply for provincial nomination through its Entrepreneur Stream on August 20. The minimum required score for this draw was 110, the lowest score for this Stream in two years. The Entrepreneur Stream of Ontario is meant for those who want to start a new business or buy an existing business in Ontario. Once their business is successfully established in Ontario, they can apply for permanent residence in Canada.
