The streams managed under PEI Expression of Interest system
Prince Edward Island Express Entry Stream
Through its Express Entry stream, Prince Edward Island selects eligible candidates from the federal Express Entry pool for provincial nomination. The candidates who are nominated by PEI obtain an additional 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score points that ensure an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence for them in the subsequent Express Entry draw. Prince Edward Island Express Entry stream has two pathways–the one for candidates with a job offer and the other for those who don’t have a job offer.
Prince Edward Island Labour Impact Category
Prince Edward Island Labour Impact Category has two streams:
- Skilled Worker Stream
Under this employer-driven stream, skilled workers with an employment offer from a PEI employer are nominated for permanent residence in Canada.
- Critical Worker Stream
This stream is open for foreign workers already working in PEI, specifically in occupations that critically demand workers.
Prince Edward Island Business Impact Category
Work Permit Stream:
In order to apply under this stream, the candidates must first obtain a Canadian work permit and work for a business in PEI for a duration as agreed in the Performance Agreement. Once it is proved that the candidate has successfully fulfilled the performance agreement, he/she can make a minimum investment of $150,000 and commit to manage the business on a daily basis from PEI.
