In the latest draw held on April 23, British Columbia invited 157 Skills Immigration and Express Entry candidates to apply for provincial nomination. The invited candidates belong to the Skilled Workers and International Graduate categories of the Skills Immigration and Express Entry BC streams under the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP).
BC PNP Express Entry
The Express Entry BC categories under the BC PNP are meant for candidates who have an active profile in the federal Express Entry system. These candidates, if successfully obtain provincial nomination from British Columbia, will receive 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score points that would guarantee them an invitation to apply for permanent residence in Canada in the subsequent Express Entry draw.
Reduced processing time of applications is one of the significant specialties of the Express Entry BC stream, as it is aligned to the federal Express Entry. The categories under Express Entry BC are:
- Skilled Workers (including Health Care Professionals category)
- International Post Graduates
- International Graduates
Besides, the candidates must also qualify for one of the three federal economic immigration programs managed under the Express Entry, mentioned below:
- Federal Skilled Worker
- Federal Skilled Trades
- Canadian Experience Class
BC PNP Skills Immigration
There are a number of categories under the BC PNP Skills Immigration Stream. Each of these categories has their own unique requirements. The categories are:
- Skilled Worker Category
- Health Care Professional Category
- International Graduate Category
- International Post-Graduate Category
- Entry Level and Semi-Skilled Category – including employment in the Northeast Development Region of B.C.
The Government of Canada will process the applications for provincial nomination from Skills Immigration candidates outside the federal Express Entry system.
BC PNP Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS)
BC PNP invites candidates to apply for provincial nomination based on their points score in the BC PNP Skills Immigration System (SIRS). BC PNP’s SIRS is a unique system that evaluates immigration candidates on the basis of a number of factors such as education, work experience, language proficiency etc. Most of the BC PNP immigration categories require the potential candidates to register for free to the SIRS by completing all sections of the online registration. In order to register, they must have an offer of indeterminate, full-time employment from a BC employer.
Canada PNP offers vast options for potential immigrants to make Canada their permanent home. Please contact us for more information and assistance.
