The first ever Ontario Tech Draw held on July 12, 2019 issued a total of 1623 invitations to tech workers through the Human Capital Priorities (HCP) Stream of Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP). This is so far the largest draw held by OINP till date.
Ontario announced the launch of tech-specific draws for international workers with experience in one of the six designated NOC codes in the beginning of this month. The first draw will give 1623 candidates and their families a chance to make Canada their permanent home.

The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores of the candidates invited in the latest draw ranged between 439 and 459. With the CRS cut-off scores in recent federal Express Entry draws hovering around 450, an invitation through Ontario Tech Draw gives more possibility for an Express Entry candidate to obtain permanent residence in Canada.
The invited candidates can submit the complete application for provincial nomination from Ontario. If they are successful in obtaining provincial nomination, they will receive an additional 600 CRS score points that would guarantee them an invitation to apply for permanent residence in Canada.
