Saskatchewan PNP draw of March 24 invites 418 candidates

In the Saskatchewan PNP draw held on March 24, the province invited 418 candidates to apply for provincial nomination. The invited candidates belonged to the Express Entry and Occupations In Demand subcategories under the International Skilled Worker category of the SINP. Out of the total 418 invitations issued, 183 went to the Express Entry subcategory candidates while the remaining 235 invitations were issued to Occupations In-Demand sub-category candidates. Candidates belonging to both the streams required a minimum Expression of Interest score of 70 to receive an invitation. They were also required to have their Educational Credential Assessments (ECA) to demonstrate that their foreign education credentials were equal to Canadian standards.

The candidates invited in the March 23 Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program(SINP) draw were also required to have work experience in one of the 78 in-demand occupations of Saskatchewan. Some of these occupations included medical laboratory technicians, social workers, educational counsellors etc.

Saskatchewan PNP Expression of Interest system

The Expression of Interest system of Saskatchewan helps the province to select candidates who have the potential to economically establish themselves in the province. They are assessed on the basis of various factors such as age, education, work experience, previous connections to the province etc. Based on this assessment, each candidate is awarded a score out of 100. Those with the highest scores receive invitations to apply for provincial nomination.

Saskatchewan PNP Occupations In Demand subcategory

To receive an invitation under the Occupations In Demand subcategory, the candidates do not require an Express Entry profile. Neither a job offer from the province is necessary. However, the candidates must be highly skilled and should have work experience in one of the in-demand occupations of Saskatchewan.

Saskatchewan PNP Express Entry subcategory

The Express Entry sub-category of the Saskatchewan PNP is aligned to the federal Express Entry system. It allows Saskatchewan to invite eligible candidates from the Express Entry pool to apply for provincial nomination. At the same time, the Express Entry candidates need to submit an Expression of Interest to the Saskatchewan PNP to be considered for inviting. If they are invited by the province, they will receive 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System(CRS) score points that would guarantee them an invitation to apply for permanent residence in Canada in the subsequent federal Express Entry draw.
