Skilled Workers Overseas Express Entry sub-stream: Manitoba invites 132 candidates

In its second Express Entry-linked Expression of Interest (EoI) draw to have held after a gap of just three days, Manitoba invited 132 candidates to apply for provincial nomination through its Skilled Workers Overseas sub-stream. The draw held on July 9, 2018 targeted Express Entry candidates with recent work experience in NOC B occupations. The minimum ranking score was 519.
Manitoba sent Letters of Advice to Apply (LAA) for provincial nomination through its Express Entry-linked Skilled Workers Overseas sub-stream to Express Entry candidates with a valid Express Entry profile and job-seeker validation code. Another criterion for selection is minimum six months of recent experience in one   of the occupations on Manitoba’s In-Demand list. The occupation has to be designated skill level “B” under the National Occupational Classification (NOC) system of Canada. The candidate is also supposed to have the confirmed support of a close friend or relative who has resided in Manitoba for a minimum of one year.

Moreover, the candidate must score a minimum of 60 points out of 100.The point grid of the Manitoba Skilled Worker Overseas Express Entry sub-stream assesses the candidate based on five factors. They are: language ability, age, work experience, education, and adaptability.
The previous draw under the Express Entry-linked Skilled Workers Overseas sub-stream of Manitoba was held on July 6. A total 202 LAAs were issued in this draw that did not limit the work experience to NOC B occupations. The latest draw of July 9 is the seventh draw to have held after Manitoba introduced the Express Entry-linked Skilled Workers Overseas sub-stream in January 2018. Manitoba has, till date, sent 1,155 LAAs to Express Entry candidates through this sub-stream.
Express Entry candidates interested in the Skilled Workers Overseas sub-stream of Manitoba must first register an Expression of Interest with the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). Those who receive provincial nomination will be awarded an additional 600 their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score points.
