The New Brunswick Entrepreneurial Stream under the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP) targets experienced business owners and senior business managers who want to settle in New Brunswick. The applicants under this Stream must start a new business or buy an existing business in New Brunswick and manage the operations on a day-to-day basis.
The candidates must also meet the following requirements:
Previous connection to New Brunswick
In order to submit an Expression of Interest under the New Brunswick Entrepreneurial Stream, the candidates must prove a previous connection to the province. The candidates must either have visited the province within the last two years for at least five days or have attended an Entrepreneurial Stream information within the last two years.
Language proficiency
The candidate must demonstrate minimum language proficiency in English or French equal to Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 5.
Education
The candidate must possess an academic degree acquired from a college or university with a program duration of at least three years of full-time study or a diploma in a specific trade that require at least two-years of full-time study.
Work experience
The candidate must demonstrate sufficient work experience to prove that they are capable of setting up and operating a business in the province. They must own at least one third (33.3%) of a business they have managed for at least three out of the last five years. The candidate must also have been responsible for supervising at least two employees.
Investment
The candidate must have a minimum personal net worth of at least $600,000 CAD. Of this, minimum $300,000 CAD must be readily available and unencumbered. They must also invest at least $250,000 CAD in the business that they establish and actively manage in New Brunswick.
Age
The age of the applicant must be between 22 and 55 years.
Points Assessment Grid
The candidate must score minimum 65 on the Points Assessment Grid of New Brunswick Entrepreneurial Stream.
Business requirements
The applicant must either establish a new business or purchase an existing business in New Brunswick. In this business, they must have one third (33.3%) ownership and actively manage the business on a day-to-day basis. The candidate must also prove that the business is of economic benefit to the province. It must also be a private sector, for-profit business and must create at least two full-time jobs for Canadian permanent residents or citizens.
Eligible candidates interested in applying through the New Brunswick Entrepreneurial Stream can submit an EoI along with a business concept to the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program(NBPNP).
