Prince Edward Island PNP sends invitations to candidates from various categories

In a draw held on July 19, Prince Edward Island PNP issued 75 invitations to apply for provincial nomination to candidates in the Express Entry and Labor Impact categories. Another 50 invitations were issued to candidates in the Business Impact category. The minimum required cut-off point for Business Impact Category candidates was 135. However, the Office of Immigration of Prince Edward Island has not revealed the breakdown of the 75 invitations sent, including how many Express Entry candidates were invited. The office has neither revealed the specifics about the invited candidates, such as if they were already working in Prince Edward Island.

Though Prince Edward Island is Canada’s smallest province, it boasts of a flourishing economy that is centered on agriculture, tourism, and fishing. The provincial nominee program of PEI accepts applications under three major categories–

3. Business Impact Category
-100% Ownership Stream
-Partial Ownership Stream
-Work Permit Stream
PEI PNP has an Expression of Interest (EOI)-based immigration system. Anyone interested in applying to Prince Edward Island PNP must first create and submit an EOI profile. Based on the unique point grids linked to the EoI system, the candidates applying under various categories of Prince Edward Island PNP are awarded points. Candidates who obtain minimum required points enter the pools of respective categories. The highest scoring candidates in the pool are invited to apply for provincial nomination from Prince Edward Island PNP. The Express Entry candidates who successfully apply for provincial nomination receive 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points that increase their chances for being invited by the federal government to apply for Canada immigration.
