Following the 99th Express Entry draw held on September 19, 2018, a total of 3500 candidates are set to receive invitations to apply for permanent residence in Canada. The minimum cut-off Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score for this draw was 441 points, one point higher than the previous three draws.
The tie-break rule was applied in this Express Entry draw too, the date and time being September 6, 2018 at 10:28:45 UTC. It means all candidates with a CRS score of 441, who submitted their Express Entry profile before the said date and time, are invited to apply.
Including today’s Express Entry draw, the IRCC has so far issued a total of 62,100 ITAs over 19 draws in 2018. In 2017, the number of ITAs issued over the first 19 draws was 60,742. But between January 2017 and the same point in September 2017, IRCC had issued 66,549 ITAs, which means 4,449 ITAs more than this year.
In 2018, Express Entry draws had been following a pattern where the number of ITAs issued was retained as same over a series of draws and then raised by 250 or 500. In the beginning of this year, the draw size was 2750, which has gradually risen to 3900 in the previous draw held on September 5. Now the number has again come down to 3500.
