In the latest draw held on March 26, British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) issued 242 invitations to Skills Immigration and Express Entry BC candidates to apply for provincial nomination. The invited candidates belonged to the Skilled Workers, International Graduates and Entry level and Semi-skilled Workers categories of BC PNP Skills Immigration and Express Entry BC streams.
Express Entry BC
The candidates with an active Express Entry profile can apply for a provincial nomination from British Columbia through the Express Entry BC stream. The candidates must meet the provincial eligibility criteria for one of the following categories under the BC PNP:
- Skilled Workers (including Health Care Professionals category)
- International Post Graduates
- International Graduates.
In order to enter the Express Entry pool, the candidate must also be eligible for one the following economic immigration programs:
- Federal Skilled Worker
- Federal Skilled Trades
- Canadian Experience Class
The candidates who successfully apply and obtain provincial nomination from British Columbia will receive 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score points that would guarantee them an invitation to apply for permanent residence in the subsequent Express Entry draw.
Skills Immigration
Skills Immigration program comprises a number of categories, each of which demands a unique set of requirements. Candidates of Skilled Workers, International Graduates and Entry level and Semi-skilled Workers categories of Skills Immigration were invited in the latest draw. The applications for permanent residence from these candidates will be processed outside the Express Entry system.
All the candidates who were invited in the March 26 had registered their profiles with the BC PNP Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) and received a registration score. SIRS is the unique point-based system of BC PNP, which is used to evaluate candidates on the basis of their educational credentials, work experience and English and French language proficiency. The invited candidates must provide a proof of an indeterminate, full-time job offer with an eligible employer in British Columbia.
Invitations have also been issued to 23 candidates belonging to BC PNP Entrepreneur Immigration with registration scores as low as 106.
