Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship
Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship has been instituted by the Canada government with an aim to improve Canada’s ability to attract and retain world-class and highly qualified PhD students, and establish Canada as a global center of excellence in research and higher education. The scholarship is awarded to 167 PhD students every year. In order to be selected for the scholarship, the candidate must have leadership skills, research potential and high level of academic achievement at master’s level in Engineering, Natural Sciences, Health, Social Sciences or Humanities. The scholarship amount is $50,000 per year for three years. Candidates are nominated for this scholarship by the institutions where they study.
Canada Graduate Scholarships – Master’s Program
The Canada Graduate Scholarships-Master’s (CGS M) Program aims to help develop research skills among students and assist in the training of highly qualified personnel. The scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate a high standard of achievement in undergraduate and early graduate studies. The scholarship amount is $17,500 for 12 months. The candidate must be enrolled in, have applied for, or will apply for full-time admission to an eligible graduate program at the master’s or doctoral level at a Canadian institution with a CGS M allocation.
UBC Graduate Global Leadership Fellowships
UBC Graduate Global Leadership Fellowships are instituted for students from developing countries including India. It enables promising leaders from developing countries to pursue doctoral studies at University of British Columbia. The scholarship amount is $18,200 per year plus tuition for four years. Two new fellowships are offered each year. In order to be eligible, the students must demonstrate academic excellence, research potential and have an established record of leadership in professional, academic or volunteer work for the development of civil and sustainable society in home country.
Ontario Graduate Scholarship
The Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS) program, funded by the provincial government Ontario, aims to encourage excellence at the master’s and doctoral levels of education. The scholarship, valued at $15,000 per year, is merit-based. The candidates are assessed on the basis of academic excellence, research ability, communication and leadership ability.
