Quebec has conducted two draws since the Arrima system was launched and a total of 950 candidates have been invited to apply for a Quebec Selection Certificate (Certificat de sélection du Québec, or CSQ). Information regarding the Arrima draws was released by Quebec’s Ministry of Immigration, Diversity and Inclusion (MIDI) on its webpage on August 19.
As per the data, the latest Arrima draw was held on July 17, in which 259 candidates were invited to apply. The selected candidates were those with an Expression of Interest profile and a valid job offer. The first draw from Arrima was held on July 4 in which 691 invitations were issued to candidates:
- Whose application for a Quebec Selection Certificate was terminated on June 16, 2019. They must have submitted the application while staying in Quebec as a temporary resident.
- Whose application for a Quebec Selection Certificate was terminated on June 16, 2019. They must have been working or studying in Quebec at the time of submitting the application
- Who created an Arrima profile and filed an Expression of Interest for Quebec migration before December 17, 2019
Quebec had cancelled nearly 16000 applications to the Quebec Skilled Worker Program (QSWP) as part of reforming the province’s immigration laws. The cancelled applications were those filed before launch of Arrima system in September 2018.

Candidates who wish to migrate to Canada through the Regular Skilled Worker Program of Quebec must first submit an Expression of Interest through Arrima. The Quebec immigration authorities select eligible candidates based on a number of criteria and the labour market needs of the province. MIDI has informed that it is planning to conduct several invitation rounds from now till January 16, 2020.
The candidates who have received invitation from Quebec to apply for CSQ can submit a complete application within 90 days. Once the Ministry receives the application, they would send a complete list of required documents. Upon receiving these documents, the Ministry would review the application and eligible candidates would receive Quebec Selection Certificate.
