Manitoba Express Entry
Canada Express Entry is a system for managing applications for immigration through the three major federal economic immigration programs of the country. Each candidate who creates an Express Entry profile is assessed on the basis of various eligibility factors such as age, education, work experience, language proficiency etc. and awarded a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score out of 1200. The highest-scoring candidates are invited to apply for permanent residence in Canada in the subsequent federal Express Entry draws. The Express Entry candidates who receive provincial nomination from Manitoba will have 600 additional points added to their total CRS score, guaranteeing them an ITA in next Express Entry draw. To be considered for provincial nomination from Manitoba, Express Entry candidates must have work experience in one of the in-demand occupations of Manitoba and meet other requirements. They also need to submit a separate Expression of Interest to the MPNP.
Manitoba Expression of Interest
To be considered for provincial nomination from Manitoba, candidates belonging to both the Skilled Worker in Manitoba and Skilled Worker Overseas categories must first submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to the MPNP. Based on various eligibility factors, each EoI profile is awarded a score out of 1000. A set number of highest-scoring candidates receive invitations in Manitoba Expression of Interest draws. The minimum score of Skilled Worker in Manitoba candidates invited in the latest draw was 548. At the same time, the minimum score of Skilled Worker Overseas Stream candidates was 679.
Skilled Worker Overseas, Skilled Worker in Manitoba streams
The Skilled Worker Overseas category helps Manitoba select skilled foreign workers who can meet the labour market demands of the province. The category gives priority to candidates who have a previous connection to the province in the form of education/ work experience or close relatives residing here or have received an invitation through one of the Strategic Recruitment Initiatives of MPNP. They need not be present in the province at the time of application. All the 39 Skilled Worker Overseas Stream candidates who received LAAs in the latest Manitoba Expression of Interest draw were invited directly through a Strategic Recruitment Initiative. The candidates under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba Category must be working in Manitoba at the time of application and have a full-time permanent job offer from a Manitoba employer.
International Education Stream
Manitoba invites international graduates with in-demand skills through one of the three sub-categories under the International Education Stream, which are Career Employment Pathway, Graduate Internship Pathway, and the Student Entrepreneur Pathway.
