Manitoba Express Entry
Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program or MPNP is aligned to the federal Express Entry system. The Express Entry system manages applications under the three federal high skilled immigration programs, which are the Canadian Experience Class, the Federal Skilled Worker Program and the Federal Skilled Trades Program. The Express Entry profiles are assessed and ranked on the basis of the Comprehensive Ranking System score, which is awarded on the basis of various eligibility factors. The maximum score is 1200. The Express Entry candidates who receive a provincial nomination will have 600 additional CRS score points added to their total score. This would guarantee them an invitation to apply for permanent residence in Canada in a subsequent federal Express Entry draw.
Manitoba immigration
In order to receive a provincial nomination from Manitoba, you need to submit an Expression of Interest to the MPNP. Manitoba will assess each of these Expressions of Interest on the basis of various human capital factors and award a score out of 1000. The Skilled Workers Overseas category and the Skilled Workers in Manitoba category allow the province to select candidates who can meet its labour market requirements. To be eligible, Skilled Worker Overseas candidates must demonstrate previous connections to the province in the form of close family ties, previous study or work experience in the province or an invitation issued through one of the Strategic Recruitment Initiatives of Manitoba. However, candidates need not be present in Manitoba at the time of submitting the application. The Skilled Workers in Manitoba should have a full-time job offer from a Manitoba employer. Candidates who have completed their higher education in Manitoba and possess in-demand skills are eligible under the International Education Stream.
