In the Manitoba PNP Draw held on February 10, the province invited 273 immigration candidates to apply for provincial nomination. The candidates were invited across three Provincial Nominee Programs(PNPs). A total of 202 candidates were invited under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream and their minimum Expression of Interest(EOI) score was 615. Skilled Workers Overseas candidates received 31 invitations and their minimum score was 705. Forty International Education Steam candidates were also invited but they had no minimum score requirement. Among the total number of invitations, 68 were issued to Express Entry candidates.
Canada Express Entry
The Express Entry system of Canada is an online system for managing the applications for immigration under the three federal economic immigration programs of Canada, which are the Canadian Experience Class, the Federal Skilled Worker Program, and the Federal Skilled Trades Program.
The Express Entry candidates are assessed and ranked on the basis of various human capital factors and awarded a Comprehensive Ranking System(CRS) score. Those with the highest scores are invited to apply for permanent residence in Canada in the Express Entry draws that are conducted regularly.
Almost all Provincial Nominee Programs in Canada have at least one stream or category aligned to the Express Entry. The Express Entry candidates who have received a provincial nomination will have 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System(CRS) score points added to their total CRS score. This would guarantee them an invitation to apply for permanent residence in a subsequent Express Entry draw.
Manitoba PNP
In order to receive an invitation under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba Stream or Skilled Worker Overseas stream, an immigration candidate must have submitted an Expression of Interest (EOI) to the MPNP. Each of these Expression of Interest profiles will be assessed on the basis of various human capital factors and awarded a score out of 1000 points. Those with the highest scores will receive an invitation in the subsequent Expression of Interest draw of Manitoba.
The Skilled Workers Overseas candidates should have previous connections to Manitoba in the form of close family ties, previous work or education experience in Manitoba or an invitation received through one of the Strategic Recruitment Initiatives of Manitoba. However, the candidate need not be residing in Manitoba at the time of submitting the application. Skilled Workers in Manitoba candidates must have a full-time job offer from a provincial employer. The international students graduated from one of the post-secondary institutions in Manitoba may apply under the International Education stream, provided they have the in-demand skills.
