In the Saskatchewan PNP draw held on September 28, the province invited 1146 candidates to apply for provincial nomination. Among those invited, 507 candidates belong to the Occupations In-Demand stream of Saskatchewan with work experience one of the in 94 targeted occupations and a minimum score of 81. The remaining 639 candidates received their invitations through the Saskatchewan Express Entry stream, and the selected ones have work experience in one of the 82 targeted occupations. The minimum score required for these candidates was 83.
Saskatchewan Expression of Interest system
In order to receive an invitation through either the Occupations In Demand stream or Express Entry stream, a candidate must first submit an Expression of Interest to the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program(SINP). The candidate will then enter the Expression of Interest candidate pool. The selected candidates will be issued with Invitations to Apply in the Saskatchewan draws that are conducted regularly. Those who have received the invitation must submit the complete application within 60 days. SINP officials will take a decision on these applications and award provincial nomination.
Saskatchewan Occupation-In-Demand Sub-category
To be eligible under this category, a candidate must score at least 60 points on the SINP points assessment grid. Minimum language proficiency required is equal to Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 4. The candidates must also have completed at least one year of post-secondary education and earned a diploma, certificate or degree. Those who have completed their education outside must have their Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) done. They must also have at least one year of relevant work experience. They must also have settlement funds and settlement plan.
Saskatchewan Express Entry sub-category
To be eligible under this category, candidates must have an active Express Entry profile and a minimum of 60 points on the SINP points assessment grid. They must also have sufficient level of language proficiency and post-secondary education with a duration of at least one year in a high-skilled eligible occupation. They must also submit proof of settlement funds and a settlement plan.
