In the latest Expression of Interest draw held on November 8, the Canadian province of Saskatchewan invited 35 candidates to apply for provincial nomination. Out of 35 invitations, 31 were issued to Occupations In-Demand and Express Entry candidates. The candidates also required work experience in one of the six targeted occupations and a minimum provincial score of 69. The National Occupation Codes of the targeted NOCs are 3122, 3143, 3215, 3216, 3234 and 4151. The remaining four invitations were issued Ukrainian candidates.
Saskatchewan Expression of Interest system
In order to receive an invitation through either the Occupations In Demand stream or the Expression of Interest stream, a candidate must first submit and Expression of Interest to the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program(SINP). Eligible candidates will enter the EOI candidates pool and the selected candidates will receive invitations in the EOI draws that are conducted regularly. The invited candidates can submit the complete application within 60 days. After assessment of these applications, the SINP will award provincial nomination to eligible candidates.
Saskatchewan Occupation-In-Demand Sub-category
To be eligible to receive an invitation under this sub-category, a candidate must score at least 60 points on the SINP points assessment grid. They must have a minimum language proficiency level of Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 4. Minimum educational qualification is post-secondary level, and must have acquired a diploma, certificate or degree following a course with duration of at least one year. If the education is obtained from outside Canada, they must also have their Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) done. Further, the candidate must have work experience of at least one year in an eligible occupation classified under NOC A, B or 0. This must be acquired within the past 10 years. The candidates must also have acquired a professional license, if necessary.
Saskatchewan Express Entry
To be eligible under Saskatchewan Express Entry sub-category, a candidate must have an active Express Entry profile and a job seeker validation code. They must score at least 60 points on the SINP points assessment grid and prove their language proficiency. Further, the candidate must have completed post-secondary level education with course duration of at least one year and earned a diploma, certificate or degree. For degrees obtained from outside Canada, an Educational Credential Assessment must be done. They must also have required level of work experience in an occupation classified under NOC A, B or 0 and obtain professional licence, if needed. They must also submit proofs of settlement funds and a settlement plan.
