In the sixth Express Entry draw of 2023, which also happens to be a Provincial Nominee Program-specific draw, the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada(IRCC) invited 667 immigration candidates to apply for permanent residence in Canada. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System(CRS) score of the invited candidates was 748. This is the fourth program-specific draw of 2023. The previous program-specific draw, held on February 15, also happened to be a PNP-specific draw. Among the program-specific draws held so far in 2023, all except one were PNP-specific draws. The lone Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) draw was held on February 2nd.The IRCC has conducted only two all-program draws so far in 2023. Earlier, the IRCC had paused all-program draws for 18 months from January 2021 to July 2022, owing to the obstructions caused by the impact of the pandemic. However, the all-program draws resumed in July 2022 and continued to be held till January 2023.
Express Entry application tracker
In order to make the process of immigration through Express Entry more transparent, the IRCC has launched an application tracker. With this application tracker, candidates in the Federal Skilled Workers Program (FSWP), the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) can check the status of their application online. It will help them stay updated about the actions that need to be taken, if any.
Canada Express Entry system
The Express Entry system of Canada, introduced in 2015, is one of the fastest pathways for skilled workers to migrate to Canada. Those who wish to migrate to Canada through Express Entry must first create an Express Entry profile online. They will then be assessed on the basis of various human capital factors such as age, education, work experience and a Comprehensive Ranking System(CRS) score will be awarded to them. Those with the highest scores will be invited to apply for permanent residence in Canada in the Express Entry draws that are conducted regularly. The Express Entry candidates with a provincial nomination will have 600 additional CRS score points added to their total CRS score, which would guarantee them an invitation in a subsequent draw.
