- You must meet a minimum language requirement of CLB 5.
- Proof of funds.
While you apply, you’ll need proof that you have the money to support yourself and dependants after your arrival. The amount you need depends on the size of your family.
How to apply for a Start-up Visa?

- You must have a qualifying business to establish in Canada.
- You must have a detailed business plan outlining the nature of the business, innovation potential, and proposed economic benefits to Canada.
- You must obtain a letter of support from a designated organization (designated venture capital fund, angel investor group, or business incubator) by presenting the business plan. The support from designated organizations is a strategic partnership that will contribute to the success of your startup.
- You must clear the English language proficiency with as low as CLB 5
- Additionally, you must provide documents demonstrating your business experience, financial capacity, and compliance with program requirements.
- Once all requirements are met, you can submit the application to Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for processing.
- Successful applicants, business team and their families receive Canadian permanent residency allowing them to live and work in Canada.
