Since Saskatchewan is a prairie province, its economy lies in Agriculture. Other occupations like fishing, forestry, and mining are also playing their role in the economy of Saskatchewan. Saskatchewan experiences humid continental climate where summers are warm, and winters are cold. Sub-arctic climate gives mild summers and cold winters in the northern part of the province. This place is one of the suitable places to live, which has a welcoming aura.

- Saskatchewan Technical Institute (Moose Jaw) – 1959
- Central Saskatchewan Technical Institute (Saskatoon) – 1963
- Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Arts & Science (Regina) – 1972
- Northern Institute of Technology (Prince Albert) – 1986
The institute act and regional colleges act encapsulated these colleges as Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology in 1988. This again turned as Saskatchewan Polytechnic College in 2014.
