3600 candidates invited in largest Express Entry draw since January

In the largest Express Entry draw held since January this year, the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) invited 3600 candidates to apply for permanent residence in Canada. The draw held on July 10 witnessed an increase of 250 ITAs over the 10 draws held since January 30, 2019. In each of these draws, the number of ITAs issued was 3350.
The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) cut-off score also dropped by two points to 460 in the latest draw. The CRS cut-off score in the previous draw held on June 26 was 462. This is the third consecutive draw where CRS cut-off threshold is decreasing. Since the May 29 draw when the CRS cut-off threshold was 470, the minimum required score has come down by 10 points.
Tie-break rule was applied in the July 10 draw, the time stamp given being June 11, 2019 at 12:27:18 UTC. It means all candidates with a CRS score of 460 or above, who submitted their Express Entry profiles before the said date and time were prioritised in the draw.
This is the 14th Express Entry draw of 2019 and 121st since the Express Entry system came into existence in 2015. With the latest draw, the number of Invitations to Apply(ITAs) issued by Canada so far this year has reached 45,400. As Canada has set a record-breaking immigration target for this year, it is expected that the CRS cut-off score would come down further in the upcoming draws.
The candidates who receive invitation in the latest draw can apply for permanent residence in Canada within 60 days. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) aims to process Express Entry applications within six months.
