Canada Immigration Requirements

Federal skilled workers program and Federal skilled trades program are the two schemes which evidently help the skilled workers to migrate to Canada under the entry express program. To consider the eligibility of candidates there is minimum 67 points immigration in Canada criteria under the Federal Skilled Workers Program. The candidates who are fit to apply for Canada immigration requirements should have a minimum of 67 points to apply the IRCC for the Canadian PR status.

Language skills

The maximum points of language skill are 28 for Canada immigration requirements. It is necessary to work as well as communicate in one or both of Canada’s official languages. Knowing French, English or both helps you better in the Canadian job market. You will be able to get maximum of 28 points for your skills in French and English. The ability is based on reading, writing, listening and speaking.

Language testing

You should take the approved language test to prove your language levels. To measure your English level, there is Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) and for French, there is Niveaux de Competence Linguistique Canadien (NCLC).

For your first official language, you must get a minimum level of CLB 7 or NCLC 7 in all four language areas. You must meet the minimum level of CLB 5 or NCLC 5 in all four language areas for your second official language to satisfy the Canada immigration requirements.

To get accepted into the Express Entry pool or to be eligible for the Canada immigration requirements, you must include the test results of either English or French. The results must also meet the required level as per the rules of Canadian visa.

Education

Maximum points in education are 25 in the 67 points immigration Canada. To get points for your education, you must have an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) report from an approved agency. The report should be equal to a completed certificate, degree or diploma from a Canadian secondary (high school) or post-secondary school. If you have done your education in Canada, there should be a certificate, degree or diploma from a Canadian secondary (high school), post-secondary school.

Experience

The maximum points of experience are 15. The points are offered based on the number of years you have spent in full-time paid work. There should be at least 30 hours per week for working or there should be an equal amount of part-time work.

National Occupational Classification (NOC)

For the classification of the jobs in the Canadian economy, the NOC system is used. It defines skills, duties, talents and work settings for different jobs. In Canada immigration requirements NOC is very essential to classify the variety of jobs that are basically applying for.

Age

There should be maximum 12 points for the category of age. The points on your age are based on the day when we get your application.

Arranged employment in Canada

There are 10 points for arranged employment in Canada. If you have a full-time job offer for at least one year from a Canadian employer, you can get minimum points. There should be job offer before you apply to come to Canada as a federal skilled worker.

You can get 10 points for a valid job offer. Anyone of these cases must be valid when you apply:

  • You currently work in Canada on a temporary work permit and
  • For the Canada immigration requirements, the validity of your work permit is for both as when you apply and when the visa is issued (or when your visa is issued you’re authorized to work in Canada without a work permit)
  • Your work permit should name the employer you’re working for and also has made a permanent job offer.
  • Exemption of LMIA requirement in the job that currently you work in Canada under:
  • an international agreement (such as the North America Free Trade Agreement) or
  • a federal-provincial agreement and
  • You currently don’t:
  • have a work permit, or
  • plan to work in Canada before you get a permanent resident visa

Adaptability

It is 10 points for adaptability. For the immigration to Canada, if you have a spouse or common-law partner with you, they can earn points for adaptability too. You can only get points for each item once.
