In a draw held on November 14, the Government of British Columbia invited 358 candidates to apply for provincial nomination. The invitations were issued to candidates belonging to Skills Immigration and Express Entry streams of British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP). The invited Express Entry candidates belonged to Express Entry BC Skilled Workers and Express Entry BC International Graduates categories.
BC PNP Express Entry
The candidates belonging to the Express Entry categories of British Columbia must have an active profile in the federal Express Entry pool. The candidates who receive provincial nomination from British Columbia will also obtain 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points which increase their chances for being invited to apply for permanent residence in Canada in the subsequent Express Entry draws.
Express Entry BC Skilled Workers
This category is for international skilled workers having post-secondary level education and work experience in an occupation classified under the National Occupational Classification (NOC) skill level 0, A, or B. The candidates must also have valid job offer from a Canadian employer.
Express Entry BC International Graduates
Express Entry BC International Graduates category is for international students graduated from a Canadian university or college within three years prior to submitting the application. The candidates must have a full-time permanent job offer in a skilled occupation from a British Columbia employer.
BC PNP Skills Immigration
The candidates who receive provincial nomination under the Skills Immigration stream of BC PNP will have their applications for permanent residence in Canada processed outside the Express Entry system.
Those who want to apply for Canada immigration either through Express Entry or through the Skills Immigration stream of British Columbia must first create an online profile using the BC PNP Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) of BC PNP. Based on a number of eligibility factors, scores are awarded to each profile and the highest scoring candidates are invited to apply for provincial nomination in the subsequent invitation rounds.
