Five occupations removed from SINP In-demand List

Canada PR applications

The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) has updated its In-Demand Occupations list, removing five occupations from the list. The removed occupations are:
0124 – Advertising, marketing and public relations managers
1112 – Financial and investment analysts
1123 – Professional occupations in advertising, marketing and public relations
2211 – Chemical technologists and technicians
2241 – Electrical and electronics engineering technologists and technicians
Now the number of occupations in the In-demand list of SINP has come down to 35. All these occupations are expected to remain in high demand in Saskatchewan in the next five years.

The removal of five occupations may be disappointing news for the concerned applicants. But if you have already submitted your application, you will be assessed on the basis of the eligibility criteria that existed at the time of submitting the application. But if you have not submitted the application yet, you may no longer be eligible to apply under the SINP. Still, you need not lose hope. You can check if you are eligible under the occupations list of any other provincial nominee programs. It is also possible that these occupations are restored in the list of SINP when it is updated in the future.
In-demand Occupations List
Many provinces maintain an In-demand Occupations List, which is a list of occupations that are in-demand in the province. The list is updated according to the changing needs of the labour market of each province.
The Saskatchewan Occupation In-demand stream is not aligned to Express Entry. The requirements for applicants include one year of work experience in an in-demand occupation, post-secondary level education, more than 60 points in the SINP point assessment grid and CLB 4 language proficiency.
The stream accepts only a limited number of applications during each intake and it often closes within days or even hours after opening, as it is a highly popular program.
