Manitoba Expression of Interest draw invites 403 candidates

The fifth Manitoba Expression of Interest(EoI) draw of the year 2019 has invited 403 candidates to apply for provincial nomination. With the latest draw, the total number of invitations issued by the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) so far this year has reached 2,267. Those invited in the latest Manitoba Expression of Interest draw had their profiles registered with the MPNP under Skilled Worker Overseas, Skilled Worker in Manitoba or International Education stream.

Express Entry candidates invited in Manitoba Expression of Interest draw

The 216 Skilled Workers Overseas candidates who received Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) in the  Manitoba Expression of Interest draw held on March 1 included Express Entry candidates. They were required to have a valid Express Entry ID and job-seeker validation code and minimum six months of recent work experience in a profession on Manitoba’s In-Demand Occupations List. The Express Entry candidates who apply for and successfully obtain provincial nomination from Manitoba will receive 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score points that will guarantee them an invitation to apply for permanent residence in the subsequent Express Entry draw.
Another subset of Skilled Workers Overseas candidates who received invitations in the latest Manitoba Expression of Interest draw met the following requirements:

  • A close connection to Manitoba in the form of a relative residing in the province or past education or work experience in Manitoba;
  • Minimum six months of recent work experience in one of the in-demand occupations of Manitoba; and
  • A minimum language proficiency in English or French of CLB/NCLC 5.

The minimum EoI score required for these candidates to be selected in the latest draw was 565.
In the March 1 Manitoba Expression of Interest draw, another 41 Skilled Worker Overseas candidates received LAAs through a Strategic Recruitment Initiative. The lowest ranked candidate in this group had an EoI score of 621.

Skilled Workers in Manitoba, International Education Stream

The number of Skilled Workers in Manitoba candidates who received invitations in March 1 draw was 126. Their minimum required score was as low as 566. The Skilled Workers in Manitoba Stream is meant for eligible temporary foreign workers and international student graduates currently working in Manitoba and having a permanent job offer from a Manitoba employer.
Besides, 20 invitations were issued to candidates belonging to International Education Stream. The stream offers faster pathways to permanent residence for international students graduated from Manitoba post-secondary institutions and having skills required by employers in the province.
