In the latest Expression of Interest draw held under the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program(MPNP) on April 13, Manitoba immigration officials sent Invitations to Apply(ITA) to a total of 400 candidates. ITAs were sent to candidates from the Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream and from the Strategic Recruitment Initiative, which is part of the Skilled Workers Overseas stream. The Strategic Recruitment Initiative candidates are invited to fill specific labour market needs of the province.
Out of the 400 invitations to apply, candidates from the Skilled Workers in Manitoba Stream received 316 invitations, the lowest score being 534 points. The lowest score of the candidates from the Strategic Recruitment Initiative was 703 points.
The draw held on April 13th was the 43rd draw for Manitoba immigration. The previous draw was held on March 13, 2018 in which 638 candidates were invited to apply under four streams of MPNP.

The Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream (SWM)
The Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream is based on the specific needs of Manitoba employers. SWM selects foreign workers with skills required by Manitoba employers and nominates them for Canada permanent residence. The stream has two pathways–Manitoba Work Experience Pathway and Employer Direct Recruitment Pathway. The Stream prioritizes candidates with a strong attachment to Manitoba.
Skilled Worker Overseas Stream
The Skilled Worker Overseas Stream (SWO) aims to attract international skilled workers with skills required for Manitoba’s In-Demand Occupations to the province. It has two pathways– Canada Express Entry Pathway and a direct provincial pathway.
