In the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) draw held on June 28, the province invited a record-breaking number of 1017 candidates to apply for provincial nomination. The invited candidates were required to have a valid Express Entry ID and job seeker validation code. The candidates were invited through the Skilled Workers Overseas stream of MPNP.
The minimum Expression of Interest(EOI) score of the candidates who received invitations in the latest draw is 565. The EOI score is different from the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) of the Express Entry. The draw did not have any minimum CRS score requirement. However, all the candidates who would receive a provincial nomination will have additional 600 CRS score points added to their total score. This would guarantee them an Invitation to Apply for permanent residence in Canada in a subsequent Express Entry draw.
Manitoba immigration programs
Manitoba has a number of immigration programs for attracting international talents to the province. If you wish to receive an invitation to apply for provincial nomination from Manitoba, you must first submit an Expression of Interest to the MPNP. If you are eligible, you will receive a Letter of Advice to Apply for provincial nomination from Manitoba through either the Skilled Workers in Manitoba Stream or Skilled Workers Overseas stream. These two streams are aimed to help the province select candidates with the skills and experience to fulfill the labour market needs of the province.
To receive an invitation under the Skilled Workers Overseas stream, the candidates must first submit an Expression of Interest to the MPNP. Manitoba assesses each Expression of Interest profile and awards a score out of 1000 based on various human capital factors. The candidates must also demonstrate previous connections to the province. Those with the highest scores are invited to apply for provincial nomination from Manitoba. So far, Manitoba has issued a total of 4722 PNP invitations this year.
