In the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) draw held on December 2, a total of 438 skilled workers and international graduates received invitations to apply for provincial nomination. The invitations were issued through three major immigration streams under the MPNP. While Skilled Workers in Manitoba candidates received 358 invitations, Skilled Workers Overseas candidates received 51 invitations and International Education stream candidates received 29 invitations.
The Skilled Workers in Manitoba candidates had to score at least 449 points and the Skilled Workers Overseas candidates had to score a minimum of 726 points to receive an invitation. Among the total number of invitees, 71 were candidates who had a valid Express Entry profile and job seeker validation code.
Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream
The Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream is for those candidates who can meet the specific labour needs of employers in Manitoba. It gives priority to candidates who have a strong previous connection to Manitoba. The Stream has two pathways under it, the Manitoba Work Experience Pathway and the Employer Direct Recruitment Pathway. The candidates who are presently working in Manitoba on temporary work permits may apply through Manitoba Work Experience Pathway. Those who have job offers approved by Manitoba employers can apply through Employer Direct Recruitment Pathway.
Skilled Worker Overseas stream
The candidates who have the skills and training in one of the in-demand occupations of Manitoba may apply through the Skilled Worker Overseas Stream. All applicants to the MPNP who are applying through Skilled Workers Overseas Stream must demonstrate an established connection to Manitoba either through the support of family members or friends, through previous education or work experience in the province or through an Invitation to Apply received directly from the MPNP as part of a Strategic Recruitment Initiative.
International Education Stream
The International Education Stream targets those who have completed their higher education in one of the higher education institutions of Manitoba. It has three pathways, Career Employment Pathway, Graduate Internship Pathway and Student Entrepreneur Pathway.
