New Brunswick launches pilot project for critical workers

The province of New Brunswick has announced that they would launch a new immigration pilot for critical workers namely, the New Brunswick Critical Worker Pilot NBCWP). The project aims to tackle the critical worker shortage in the province. Besides providing economic immigration to the province, it will guarantee settlement services for the newcomers who arrive through the project.
pnp-finderAccording to New Brunswick’s Immigration and Opportunities Minister Arlene Dunn, because of the pilot program, participating employers will greatly benefit from filling critical vacancies and applicants will find meaningful work in a welcoming community.  With the Pilot, New Brunswick also aims to ensure that new immigrants are retained.

Canada Provincial Nominee Program

As per the Immigration Levels Plan of Canada for 2023-25, Provincial Nominee Program will remain Canada’s leading admissions program or economic class immigrants. As per the Plan, 105500 new immigrants will come to Canada through PNP in 2023, 110000 new immigrants in 2024 and 117500 new immigrants in 2025.

The Provincial Nominee Program is currently the leading admissions program for economic class immigrants. It allows provinces and territories to nominate eligible candidates for permanent residence in Canada. Besides, almost all PNPs have at least one stream or category of immigration aligned to the federal Express Entry system. The Express Entry candidates who receive nomination will have 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score points added to their total CRS score, which would guarantee them an invitation to apply for permanent residence in Canada, in a subsequent Express Entry draw.
