The Express Entry Labour Market Stream of the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP) reopened temporarily on January 30. Expressions of Interest have been invited from skilled workers with work experience in one of the 10 occupation categories including software engineering. The applicants must be eligible for Express Entry’s Federal Skilled Worker Class.
The stream is open to candidates with work experience in one of the following priority occupations:
NOC 2173: Software engineers and designers
NOC 2171: Information systems analysts and consultants
NOC 2281: Computer network technician
NOC 2172: Database analysts and data administrators
NOC 2174: Computer programmers and interactive media developers
NOC 6322: Cooks
NOC 0631: Restaurant and food service managers
NOC 1311: Accounting technicians and bookkeepers
NOC 0311: Managers in health care
NOC 6211: Retail sales supervisors
A major condition for applying is that the applicants must have attended the one of the information sessions of NBPNP in the previous 24 months.
It is not necessary for the applicants to have an existing profile in the federal Express Entry system. But if they are nominated by New Brunswick, they will have to create a profile. The candidates have to score a minimum of 67 out of 100 points in the selection factors and meet eligibility criteria for the Federal Skilled Worker Class.
The last time the Express Entry Labour Market stream of New Brunswick was opened was in September 2017.
Eligibility criteria
The first step for the candidates to be considered under this stream is to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to the NBPNP. The applicants submitting the EOI must meet the eligibility criteria including language proficiency, educational qualifications, fund, work experience etc.
EOIs are ranked according to:
- High score in New Brunswick points system
- Proof of training and experience
- Ability to economically establish in the province.
