The Canadian province of Ontario has been allocated more PNP nominations for the year 2018. The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) can nominate 6600 immigrants in 2018, which is 600 more than the allocation for the year 2017.
Ontario has also reopened the Human Capital Priorities Stream aligned to Express Entry and will resume issuing Notifications of Interest (NOIs) to applicants who qualify for this Stream. The Human Capital Priorities Stream of Ontario allows skilled workers in the Express Entry pool who have the required qualifications in education, work experience, language proficiency and other criteria to settle in Ontario. Under this Stream, Ontario can select candidates in the Federal Skilled Worker Class and Canadian Experience Class with at least 400 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points. Those who receive NOI through the Human Capital Priorities Stream can submit their applications within 45 days.
Last year, the Human Capital Priorities Stream opened several times. In July 2017, when the Stream was opened, the requirement to have a minimum of 400 CRS points had been waived for candidates with relevant work experience in the Information and Communications Technology field.
The other OINP Streams that have been opened are:
- Express Entry French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream
- Express Entry Skilled Trades Stream
- Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker Stream
- Employer Job Offer: International Student Stream
- Employer Job Offer: In-Demand Skills Stream
- Corporate Stream
- Entrepreneur Stream
