Labour Impact Category
Labour Impact category of Prince Edward Island PNP has three streams under it:
- Skilled Worker Stream
- Critical Worker Stream
- International Graduate Stream
Skilled Worker Stream: Employers in Prince Edward Island can support a skilled foreign worker they have identified or hired to apply for Canadian permanent residence.
Critical Worker Stream: The Critical Worker Stream is a pilot program which is reviewed every year for assessing its impact on the industries it represents and the occupations selected. PEI employers can help a semi-skilled or unskilled foreign worker to apply for Canadian permanent residence through this stream.
International Graduate Stream: This employer-driven stream allows PEI employers to hire graduates from recognized PEI universities and colleges.

The province also welcomes people to start business in some of the smaller, more rural communities as part of the entrepreneurial stream of the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). Under the ranking system of the program, the candidates who receive letters of recommendation from the island’s rural towns get more points than those who plan to settle in the capital city of Charlottetown.
