‘Arrima’, the new online Expression of Interest (EoI) portal for Quebec Skilled Worker Program (QSWP), will be available to users by September, informed MIDI, the Immigration Minister of Quebec. Arrima portal is being introduced to manage the profiles of Quebec immigration applicants submitted through the new Expression of Interest system for Quebec Skilled Worker Program (QSWP). MIDI has not revealed the exact date on which Arrima will go online. According to the Ministry, the portal is currently undergoing final user experience tests.
Quebec Expression of Interest system
The Quebec Expression of Interest system for QSWP was introduced on August 2 making Quebec the latest Canadian province to adopt the Expression of Interest system. Designed in line with the federal Express Entry system, the new Quebec Expression of Interest system replaced the first-come, first-served model for accepting applications to the QSWP. Quebec government introduced the Expression of Interest system with an aim to reduce the processing times of applications and the time required to complete the immigration process.
In order to apply for Quebec immigration under the QSWP through the Quebec Expression of Interest system, a candidate must first create a profile. Anyone above the age of 18 years can submit an Expression of Interest profile. In the profile, they have to provide a number of information in the profile including:
>Personal information
>Contact details
>Family details
>Status in Quebec
>Education
>Professional experience
>Validated job offer (if applicable)
>Language skills
Then the candidates’ profiles will be ranked based on these information. High-ranking candidates will be invited to apply for a Quebec Selection Certificate (Certificat de sélection du Québec, or CSQ). In the next step, the candidates will have to obtain minimum scores on the QSWP Points Grid, in order to qualify.
