In the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) draw held on September 1, the province invited 941 healthcare workers to apply for provincial nomination. Among the total number of invitations issued, 629 went to Occupations In-demand stream candidates. The minimum score required for them was 61. The remaining 312 invitations were issued to Express Entry stream candidates. The minimum score was 61 for this stream too. The draw targeted candidates with work experience in one of the 10 targeted healthcare occupations.
The ten targeted occupations in Saskatchewan PNP are:
2263 – Inspectors in public and environmental health and occupational health and safety
3143 – Occupational therapists
3211 – Medical laboratory technologists
3212 – Medical laboratory technicians and pathologists’ assistants
3214 – Respiratory therapists, clinical perfusionists and cardiopulmonary technologists
3215 – Medical radiation technologists
3216 – Medical sonographers
3219 – Other medical technologists and technicians (except dental health)
3234 – Paramedical occupations
4151 – Psychologists
How to receive an invitation in a Saskatchewan Expression of Interest draw?
In order to receive an invitation in a Saskatchewan Expression of Interest draw, an immigration candidate must first submit an Expression of Interest to the Saskatchewan PNP. Eligible candidates will enter the EOI candidate pool. Invitations will be issued to the selected candidates in the SINP EOI draws that are conducted regularly. The invited candidates may submit the complete application for provincial nomination within 60 days. Upon receiving the application, the Saskatchewan PNP officials would assess it and make a decision.
Saskatchewan Occupation In Demand subcategory
To be eligible to receive an invitation under the Occupation In Demand subcategory, a candidate must score at least 60 points on the Saskatchewan PNP points assessment grid. The candidate must also have minimum language proficiency equal to Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 4. They must have completed post-secondary education with a minimum duration of at least one year and earned a degree, diploma or certificate.
If they have earned their educational credentials from outside Canada, they must have their Educational Credential Assessment done. Besides, they must also have work experience of at least one year in an eligible occupation. They must also have acquired the appropriate license to practice their profession in Saskatchewan.
Saskatchewan Express Entry subcategory
To be eligible under this subcategory, a candidate must have an active Express Entry profile and a job seeker validation code. They must have scored at least 60 points on the Saskatchewan points assessment grid. Besides they must have completed at least one year of post-secondary level education and earned a certificate degree or diploma. If they have earned their qualification from outside Canada, they must have the Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) done. The candidate must also have at least one year work experience in relevant occupation and must have acquired necessary professional license to practice in Saskatchewan. They must also have proof of funds and a settlement plan.
