The International Skilled Worker (ISW) category of Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program(SINP) allows the province to nominate eligible candidates for permanent residence in Canada. The category has three sub-categories:
- International Skilled Worker – Saskatchewan Express Entry
- International Skilled Worker – Occupation In-Demand
- International Skilled Worker – Employment Offer
International Skilled Worker-Saskatchewan Express Entry
The Saskatchewan Express Entry sub-category of International Skilled Worker helps candidates who already have an active Express Entry profile and who meet all the eligibility criteria to integrate well in the Saskatchewan community and labour market and settle successfully in the province. Further, the candidates must be eligible for one of the three federal economic immigration programs managed under the Express Entry:
- Federal Skilled Worker
- Federal Skilled Trades
- Canadian Experience Class
Minimum Eligibility requirements
- If the candidate is legally residing in Canada at the time of submitting the application, they must prove their legal status
- The candidate must have an active Express Entry profile and Job Seeker Validation Code. The candidate’s Express Entry profile Number and Job Seeker Validation Code has to be included in the application to the SINP.
- The candidate must submit the language test results from a designated agency as a proof of their language proficiency level declared in the Express Entry profile
- The candidate must have completed minimum one year of post-secondary level education or training comparable to Canadian education system. The education must also have resulted in a degree, diploma, certificate, or a certificate equivalent to a trade certificate
- The candidate must have a minimum level of work experience in a field related to their education or training. It must be a skilled occupation categories under NOC 0, A or B, and which is considered to be in-demand in Saskatchewan.
- Proof of professional status or licensure, if required. If the candidate’s work experience is in a skilled trade, they must also have a certificate of qualification or a letter of invitation in their skilled trade from the Saskatchewan Apprenticeship & Trade Certification Commission Proof of sufficient settlement funds
- A feasible settlement plan
- Score minimum 60 points out of 100 on the SINP point assessment grid
SINP Expression of Interest (EoI) Points Assessment Grid
Under the International Skilled Worker category of SINP, candidates who submit Expressions of Interest are assessed on the basis of a number of selection factors. In order to enter the Expression of Interest pool, the candidate needs to score at least 60 points out of 100 in the EoI points assessment grid. The selection factors and the maximum points allotted for each of these factors are as follows:
