Building computers and writing computer programs are just two aspects of computer science (we call this programming or coding).

Many computer science problems do not necessarily require computers; instead, pencil and paper may work. In reality, computer science problems have been solved for decades before computers were even developed. Although CS does include coding, it also involves a lot more. “Everybody in this country should learn how to program a computer… because it teaches you how to think.”
