The province of Nova Scotia set new a record in terms of the immigrants who reached the province, in 2019. During the year 2019, till December 27, the province had approved 2780 applications for settling here. This is 21 per cent more compared to the previous year.

Nova Scotia gave special attention to admitting health professionals in 2019 and during this period, 84 continuing care assistants and 52 physicians(including 33 were family doctors and 19 specialists) made Nova Scotia their permanent home. Further, the province has a retention rate of 71%, which is the highest in the region.
