In the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) draw held on August 10, the province invited 396 Express Entry candidates to apply for a nomination for permanent residence in Canada. This is so far the biggest Alberta PNP draw of the year. The minimum required Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score for the candidates to receive an invitation in the draw was 300.
The candidates who have received an invitation may apply for a provincial nomination through the Alberta Express Entry stream. In the previous AINP draw held on July 27, the number of candidates who received invitations was 148. However, the CRS score requirement was the same as in the latest draw. So far, Alberta has invited 2761 Express Entry candidates this year. The total annual nomination allocation for Canada this year is 6250.
Canada Express Entry
The Express Entry system of Canada manages applications for immigration under the three federal economic immigration programs, which are the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Canadian Experience Class and Federal Skilled Trades Program. To receive an Invitation to Apply for Permanent Residence in Canada, a candidate must first create an Express Entry profile. Each profile will be assessed on the basis of various eligibility factors such as age, education, work experience etc. and awarded a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score out of 1200. Those with the highest scores will be invited to apply for permanent residence in Canada in the federal Express Entry draws which are conducted regularly.
Alberta Express Entry stream
If you wish to obtain an invitation to through Alberta Express Entry stream, you must first create an Express Entry profile. You must also have work experience in one of the eligible occupations of Alberta. Besides, you must have indicated in your Express Entry profile an interest to settle permanently in Alberta. Those who have any form of previous connections to the province, like study or work experience in Canada, a job offer from an employer based in Alberta or a close family member residing in the province have higher chances of receiving a nomination. If a candidate is nominated, they will be awarded an additional 600 CRS score points. This will guarantee them an invitation to apply for permanent residence in Canada in a subsequent Express Entry draw.
