In the Arrima draw held on February 10, Quebec invited 523 candidates to apply for permanent selection. The invited candidates are those who are applying for Quebec Selection Certificate under the Quebec Regular Skilled Worker Program (QSWP).
To be invited, the candidates needed to have submitted an Expression of Interest in the Arrima system, have an Arrima score of at least 592 and work experience in one of the following occupations:

2147 Computer engineers (except software engineers and designers)
2171 Information systems analysts and consultants
2172 Database analysts and data administrators
2173 Software engineers and designers
2174 Computer programmers and interactive media developers
2175 Web designers and developers
2241 Electrical and electronics engineering technologists and technicians
2281 Computer network technicians
2282 User support technicians
2283 Information systems testing technicians
3012 Registered nurses and registered psychiatric nurses
3233 Licensed practical nurses
3413 Nurse aides, orderlies and patient service associates
4031 Secondary school teachers
4032 Elementary school and kindergarten teachers
4214 Early childhood educators and assistants
5131 Producers, directors, choreographers and related occupations
5223 Graphic arts technicians
5241 Graphic designers and illustrators
6221 Technical sales specialists – wholesale trade
This is the third Arrima draw being held in the current year and it has brought the total number of invitations issued so far this year to 1357. In 2021, a total of 3564 candidates were invited through Arrima.
Quebec Skilled Worker Program
Skilled workers and international graduates can apply for Quebec selection certificate through Quebec Regular Skilled Worker Program. The candidates will be assessed on the basis of various human capital factors such as education, language skills, work experience etc. and awarded an Arrima score. Those with the highest score will be invited to apply for Quebec Selection Certificate. The invited candidates may submit the complete application within 60 days. The application will likely be processed within six months. Once the candidates receive the Quebec Selection Certificate, they may apply for permanent residence in Canada.
In 2022, Quebec is planning to welcome between 49500 to 52500 newcomers. In addition, 18000 newcomers will be welcomed to compensate the admission levels that were not met in 2020 owing to the pandemic. So, in total, Quebec will be welcoming close to 70,000 newcomers this year.
