According to its report titled Payroll Employment, Earnings and Hours, and Job Vacancies, November 2022, wages increased by 4.2 per cent compared to the previous year. Canada pnp finderAt the same time, a total of 7100 people in Canada landed paying jobs in that month. 13500 more people landed in service sector jobs in November last year. Similarly, increase in the number of people landing payroll jobs was recorded in 10 sectors including professional, scientific and technical services, public administration, finance and insurance. The growth in the number of new employees in professional and technical services was mainly driven by the growth in computer designing and related services firms. 

Increase in payroll employment in Canada

Statistics Canada reports that as of November 2022, payroll employment in this industry was up 118,400, or 44.9 per cent, compared with June 2020. This increase accounted for nearly 42 per cent of the overall growth in professional, scientific and technical services over the period, according to the report. Among the provinces, largest increase in payroll employment was recorded by Quebec and Alberta.

Increase in wages for workers in Canada

In November last year, the compensation paid to workers was also increased and the average weekly earning in Canada was increased to $1180. The highest increase in wages was recorded in Newfoundland and Labrador as well as New Brunswick.
