Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has conducted a new Express Entry draw targeting candidates in the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) pool. In this draw, 174 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for permanent residence were issued, requiring candidates to have a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 816. This marks the lowest number of invitations issued in a PNP draw in recent times, with a score slightly higher than the 812 CRS requirement in the previous PNP draw. The tie-breaking rule in this draw was done on August 28, 2024, at 05:12 AM UTC.
Express Entry remains Canada’s primary economic immigration system, managing applications for the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and Canadian Experience Class. Candidates in the pool are ranked based on a CRS score, which evaluates factors such as age, education, work experience, language proficiency, and other qualifications. Provincial Nominee Programs aligned with Express Entry provide an additional pathway to Canadian permanent residency by granting successful nominees 600 bonus CRS points, significantly increasing their chances of receiving an ITA.
